The Unity of Believers

John 17 records the LORD Jesus's High Priestly prayer, among the many things the Saviour prayed for, in verse 21 Jesus prayed that all who believe may be one, just as He is in the Father and the Father in Him. The unity intended by the Master was that of chosen persons who by the Holy Spirit conferring life upon them are led to believe in Jesus Christ, these are people whose unity our Saviour sought.

Believers must be united because every single person who is a part taker of the life of God has sprung from same divine Father, they are quickened by the same Spirit regardless of their background. Christians ought to live in unity with one another, to support one another and love one another as they are members of one Body - Jesus Christ.

All true believers value prayer and a time of praise of the Most High God, they are glad very glad when they are told let us go to the House of the LORD, the value every hour spent in the presence of God. The desire of the LORD Jesus Christ who is the Head of Church is that they should be unity in Church, Jesus valued the unity of believers. May be play our part ensuring that there is unity in the Church.
