Synopsis
What we see in this passage is revival coming to Jacob's household because of his willingness to get rid of the idols that he had in his life. One thing is certain; when we put away our idols and purify ourselves under the mighty arm of God, He changes our character and our disposition – we become a new people altogether.
How much should it take before you respond to God's call upon your life? There is no greater blessing than to have God in control of our lives. What idols do you have in your lives? What is it that is hindering you from progressing in your spiritual walk? Do we have the courage to hear God's word in our day, as He speaks to us and urges us to get rid of the idols in our lives? We ought to turn from our competing loyalties to the living God.
