Leaving, cleaving, and one flesh

We cannot study the subject of marriage nor understand it fully without beginning from the foundational narrative that we are given in the first three chapters of the book of Genesis.

The Lord Jesus Christ, in Matt 19:3-6 attributes the words of Genesis 2:24 to God Himself. These are the very words of God — an expression of His will for marriage. In the garden, God established a model, a pattern, a standard for marital conduct. As a model for marriage, this passage involves three important factors — leaving, cleaving and becoming one flesh. This has not changed, it is God's will for every marriage. Listen in, as we focus on these three key factors.
